With great structure and even better character, this Sydney semi didn't need reinventing, just a little help showing off what it already had. Original archways frame every considered vignette, drawing the eye through from room to room, while the home's period detailing set the tone for the whole renovation. Rather than starting from scratch, Three Birds Renovations chose to honour the home's historical elegance, restoring its character while quietly improving the way it flows and lives day to day.

With no extension on the table, no extra bedrooms and no major structural changes, this renovation proves a home doesn't need to grow to feel completely transformed. The kitchen was reworked to finally open out to the once-disconnected alfresco space beyond, flooded with light from a new skylight overhead. Every square metre works a little harder here, without losing an ounce of the home's original charm.
